Something to think about.

Democrats supported slavery - Republicans opposed slavery

And the same is true today, only the slavery and bigotry by Democrats is more subtle, but actually just as damaging.

So that means that "progressives" will be on the "right side of history" when it comes to things like....

Allowing biological men to participate in women's sports if they identify as a woman?

Defunding the police?

Allowing abortion on demand right up until the point of birth? (Basically no different to infanticide other than an arbitrary line.)

Freeing criminal illegal aliens back into the country, even when they are rapists etc.? So they can just rape again?

Going in the direction of supporting censorship rather than free speech?

Dividing people into the "ethnically privileged" and the "ethnic victims of systemic oppression"?

???

Well Art, given the news that seems to be breaking ( as far as it can, that is, with our media being what it is ), it looks like your knight in shining armor may have a big piece of poo smeared right across the middle of his breastplate.

I think all of this is outweighed by the fact of liberals loving it so much to have slaves, that they literally went to war to defend this right of theirs. I mean, I am pretty sure almost all the things you listed only met polemical opposition by those conservatives. Whilst liberals literally had a civil war for having a central tenet of their ideology being taken away: owning people.

You can see the pattern still at play. When there are people in power, who are to revoke the perversions the liberal party has done - abortion, free speech censorship and so on, - the liberals are again outside, rioting and destroying stuff.

Noncontingent: Democrats supported slavery - Republicans opposed slavery

kravarnik: is outweighed by the fact of liberals loving it so much to have slaves, that they literally went to war

[Slavery] was established by decree of Almighty God...it is sanctioned in the Bible, in both Testaments, from Genesis to Revelation...it has existed in all ages, has been found among the people of the highest civilization, and in nations of the highest proficiency in the arts.
    — Jefferson Davis, President, Confederate States of America[136]

... the right of holding slaves is clearly established in the Holy Scriptures, both by precept and example.
    — Richard Furman, President, South Carolina Baptist Convention[137][138]

Christians supported slavery, for centuries.

I don't understand how does that refute my point there.

I am also tired of your equivocations on this topic, which have been corrected numerous times by numerous posters. Christianity never supported people going around enslaving others, like the Americans did with some black and white people. Or what some Muslim countries do nowadays in Africa.

For what you mean by slavery is entirely different, than what the Scriptures refer to "slavery". This is truly a display of how far one can be deceived by Satan and can remain in his debased state of confusion and mental darkness. This has been addressed and demonstrated false million times already, yet you refuse to make basic distinctions.

And I don't have to defend the statements of some supposed Christians, who supported such violent enslavement, as if that's mandated and commanded by God Himself.  If any one Christian says this is a Divine mandate, to do what the American democrats have done, and enslave people oppressively and violently, then I'd very simply distinguish myself from this guy's "Christianity".

Art's just a rusty rake.

Step over it, and move on. Zero novelty.

You seem ignorant of the fact that ideologies have realigned between the parties.  Racists departed the Democratic party after Pres. Johnson embraced and pushed the civil rights legislation in the mid 60's.  I vividly remember my cousins in central Texas commenting, "The Democrats did too much for the nig...rs", so they joined John Connally in supporting Nixon, and never came back.  Republicans were happy to have them. I'm happy they're gone.

Tell me. Do you agree with my cousins?
