With the recent shootings by theists, and also other quacky things done by theists, I begin to wonder, what is the likelihood that these crazy actions could also be taken by atheists these days?  In my search so far, that likelihood seems quite small, at 0.

It is May 20 2019, and would an atheist have done what Trump the theist has just done to America in the long run and Huawei just now? Not all theists are like Trump of course, but it does make me wonder.

So this thread will be a type of game. The game is that I'll post quacky events, and we'll highlight the main actors in these events. If theists start to be less active than atheists in quacky events in the next 5 years, I'll try to ship all of this thread's participants a gift from amazon or something.

We will likely eventually replicate human level intelligence in the form of inorganic machines, namely via artificial general intelligence. [Look out for 2029].

[See also laws of accelerating returns].

Who will be the better Gods, we who have already created machines that exceed humans in individual cognitive tasks, and we who are about to create ai that exceeds humans overall, or the famed Bible God who is about to be outdone by his creations?

Theists seem to cling to religion, despite the reality that there is no scientific evidence for any Gods. [No nobel prizes, nor any sensible award has ever been issued for supposed proofs of Gods]

It seems that theism is a way to ignore that life may indeed be purposeless; it seems to be a way for grown adults to remain child-like in that dimension.

Ideally it is reasonable that in no sensible frame, would one utilize the products of science like forums and computers, only to then disregard said scientific endeavour, that notably rejects unfalsifiable models like Gods.

However, could religion be a placeholder to maintain the species, until the species is ready to collectively search perhaps for objective scientific methods regarding purpose, such as this hypothesis of mine?

Being a Christian/theist seems to provide a nice illusory cushion upon which a theist may feel like falling.

To them, there seems to be the illusory sense of some type of apparently objective goal, like reaching to heaven.

On the other hand, atheism is perhaps absurd at first glance. I still don't go a day without considering what the purpose of it all is, and or I wonder whether a purpose is relevant at all. I think theists may have similar thoughts, but they perhaps are ultimately falsely safeguarded, namely by some illusory feeling of heaven as some final type of worthwhile destination. I had constructed a scientific/atheistic hypothesis about objective goals for the human species, but I ponder whether I derived more security (however illusory) when I was a theist, who barely gave thought to the matter back then?

Youtube/Social experiment - most people are sheep

The video above reminds me of my time as a Christian, with one crucial difference; the event in the video took place over a sequence of minutes, instead of a childhood or lifetime of religious exposure. How much autonomy does religiosity actually afford or rather steal?

Unfortunate scripture:
Ezekiel 34:11-12
‘For thus says the Lord GOD: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day.

See also, other unfortunate scripture:s.

Social experiment showing people are sheep:

Prime example: Pastor tells congregation to eat grass:

Sheep eating grass

Are there any non-trivial differences amongst the items above?

Youtube: Life-like Computer Games Now Possible (Thanks to Artificial Intelligence)

Are we becoming more and more like Gods in a creation sense (minus the omniscience, omnipotence, and all the other nonsense in the bible)?

We are building towards creating human level ai, and our games are getting more and more life-like.

What will happen? Will we mess around and create human-level intelligent software for our amusement? Will we become as maniacal as the bible God?

We have:
a.] self driving cars,

b.] smart planet discovery software,

c.] ai powered first-ever blackhole photos,

d.] better than human automated disease diagnosers

e.] etc...

Three artificial intelligence pioneers, namely Yoshua Bengio, Yann LeCun, and Geoffrey Hinton, have won the Turing award, which is a Nobel-prize like award.

They are largely responsible for many modern ai based progress, such as the items listed above.

If you are interested in artificial neural networks, and if you happen to do physics, then my model as well as a review of it, by a physics person may intrigue you.

A physics person from the University of Queensland and I, are working together to further fulfill the "Supersymmetric Artificial Neural Network":

The person's paper/presentation (See section 5.1 in the OpenReview item below, to see brief discussion about my Supersymmetric Artificial Neural Network, although reading from the start is perhaps better:)
Open Review : “Applications of Super-mathematics to Machine learning”

The person's background:
Physics Stack Exchange : Mitchell Porter

String Theory conference acceptance:

My "Supersymmetric Artificial Neural Network Model" was accepted to a String Theory conference called "String Theory and Cosmology Gordon research conference", where the likes of far smarter persons than myself, like PhD physicists such as "Hitoshi Murayama" will be speaking.

My model:
"Supersymmetric Artificial Neural Network"

Acceptance mail:
Google drive video

Website:
Gordon Research, String Theory Website

Note: For those who don't know, String Theory is referred to as Science's best theory of explaining the origin of the universe, championed by some of the world's smartest people, including Edward Witten, referred to as the "World's smartest physicist", on par with Newton and Einstein.

For any of you who are interested in machine learning, and if you have any advice for me prior to the conference, we may discuss below.

Choose Your Own Topic / Can religious persons actually think?
« on: March 21, 2019, 11:08:06 am »
Curiously, the 2 early child hood school associates who I now know to be atheists, liked to show working in doing their mathematical problems, and generally liked to find out the fine details of why things worked the way they did.

Many of the other children I came to learn about, who had turned out to be theists, tended not to query beyond the original schedule, and even those that were bright, and theistic, tended to admit that they sought to separate religiosity from science.

Can the extremum of religious argumentation, ranging from minimal length expressions of proofs of Gods in the forms of forum blogs, to complicated extensive works on arguments for Gods or theological/professorial studies, be regarded to possess any value at all? How can a PhD/professor in theology who accepts Gods as valid, be of remotely similar value to say a PhD/professor in Physics be it atheist or not?

Where a PhD physics candidate can trivially be observed to possess value that is independent of geographic location or feelings, can the PhD religious person actually think in that regard?

The bible God is infinitely smarter etc than humans.

Is there a point to creating a bunch of infinitely inferior beings namely humans?

Edited after "kravarnik's response below" to add the portion below that seeks to properly substantiate question, on March 18, 2019, 8:26pm GMT-5:

Warp speed

versus:

Snail speed:

a.] Try to imagine a task T1, to travel to a point P.

b.] Why would future human engineers create an aircraft than is inferior by billions of times, instead of an aircraft that can utilize some quick wormhole like technology?

c.] In other words, why would the engineers invent an aircraft that cannot do something like surpass the speed of light,  if they had the power to construct one that could thereafter enable some type of efficient travel path ?

d.] Now imagine an engineer that is infinitely more gifted than our human engineers above. Try to imagine a sensible answer as to why an omnipotent, omniscient God, would create infinitely less inferior beings, for whichever task or purpose.
