Why Doesn't God the Holy Ghost KNOW the DAY and HOUR? Matt 24:36
« on: September 14, 2016, 02:13:36 pm »
Trinitarians always make the stupid argument that the reason Jesus did not know the day or the hour is because he was in the flesh. Yet Jesus was able to see the future, read minds and hearts, raise the dead and cure the sick. Obviously his being "FLESH" Is not an adequate answer!  If Jesus is God, he should be ALL KNOWING!

OK, but let's assume that IT WAS BECAUSE JESUS was in the flesh. That's stupid, but let's assume.  Why doesn't the Holy Ghost, the third person in the Trinity, not know the DAY or the Hour? What is his excuse?

So we have two deities--God the Son and God the Holy Ghost but they are not all KNOWING AFTER ALL!

jp: Trinitarians always make the stupid argument that the reason Jesus did not know the day or the hour is because he was in the flesh. Yet Jesus was able to see the future, read minds and hearts, raise the dead and cure the sick. Obviously his being "FLESH" Is not an adequate answer!  If Jesus is God, he should be ALL KNOWING!

jc: There are both humorous and grave reasons that the Lord does not know the hour of Judgment (He may be watching this as I write, and feeling amazed at the answer!) The humorous reason is that Judgment is absolutely irrelevant to the Incarnation. This is a punishment for mankind, and you can count the problems Jesus causes on a closed fist.

The grave reason is that to know this puts the Lord in a very awkward position, hindering the discourse required at this juncture. Since the fact is not vital to Him, He can muse about possibilities, still not knowing if anyone will awaken to Judgment’s cause, before Judgment ensues. The final answer may be hopeful or dire, but it is better to be hopeful.

The demand that Jesus be “all knowing” like the Father, amounts to a demand for miracles before believing. Jesus warned against this, saying a wicked generation seeks for a sign. I have seen this in films, that Jesus might know all the languages of Earth, but this might not be convenient for the Lord. It could be a poor use of the mental energies from embodiment. To know one language well is enough, where some humans learn dozens.

jp: OK, but let's assume that IT WAS BECAUSE JESUS was in the flesh. That's stupid, but let's assume.  Why doesn't the Holy Ghost, the third person in the Trinity, not know the DAY or the Hour? What is his excuse?

jc: The actual verse is, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” The Holy Spirit was not mentioned by Jesus. Possibly the question revolves around Jesus saying “the Father alone,” but this in turn revolves around a poor and vague concept of the Trinity, the Father’s relation to the rest.

jp: So we have two deities--God the Son and God the Holy Ghost but they are not all KNOWING AFTER ALL!

jc: Again, this revolves around a poor understanding of the Trinity, and one notices from the hostile tones, an unwillingness to learn and lack of true concern about the question raised. It appears a restatement of Adam’s impudence, looking for ways he could make his own mind the standard rather than accepting God’s recommendations and guidance.

1. Jesus was a man. (1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 5:15)
2. His name literally means Jehovah Is Salvation.
3. He ceased to exist when murdered. (1 Corinthians 15:3)
4. God has always existed. (Habakkuk 1:12)
5. God gave Jesus life. (Acts 2:32; Galatians 1:1)
Therefore, Jesus is not God.

The Bible intentionally portrayed Jesus as a man. Bad things happen among humans, if this is done in a different way. Jesus knows that He is God, but if He speaks He is killed.

The words of the Bible are only as good as the people recording them. Some of it was spoken by Jesus, most was not. The Bible makes no effort to establish who knows what.

This sentence, “No one is entitled to their own version of reality,” is most peculiar should it be spoken from someone in Keanu’s Matrix. No one within the Matrix, can see reality.
