With all the quibbling over the definitions of atheism, I think the term Freethought best encompasses pantheon of naturalist and secular humanist points of view. Atheism and agnosticism overlap considerably. Deism is also rising as an underpinning premise among liberal clergy and theologians I know.

Furthermore, I have tried to show that WLC blatantly ignores the definitions of atheism used by Victorian Era apologists. I'm ready to discuss that here too.

I want to try this forum out, as the Choose Your Own Topic is now a cesspool of moral relativist Trump apologies. I can get that on Facebook.

Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopaedic compendium, its logic in popular form, its spiritual point d’honneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, and its universal basis of consolation and justification.- K. Yeah, the "choose your own topic" section has gotten out of hand ever since the general election. It will get better eventually.

I'm also annoyed by the plethora of purely political threads.  It's why I haven't been posting much lately.  I'm just not that interested in politics.  I do read the few religious threads that are going on.  It will get better.  Just wait until Christmas.  All the atheists can make a thread reminding everyone that the true reason for the season is the winter solstice.  The Christians won't be able to resist it and will start talking about religion again.

I'm also sick of the continuing intellectual drivel on that forum: atheists not valuing life, not being nice, "where are the moderate atheists", etc. They've backed off on the burden of proof stuff, but it will return. I just want a quiet place to discuss without seeing one thread title about politics.

There are very few people who post in the non-Choose-your-own-topic subforums.  If you start threads in other subforums, you might attract more people.  I've noticed that the threads in other subforums are normally better than the ones in CYOT.  I guess the people who try to stay out of the limelight are better thinkers.
