HaShem Matters: EOM!
« on: October 05, 2020, 04:34:47 pm »
WWSMAD?

Quote from: Daniel
King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, its height sixty cubits, its width six cubits; he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the capital city of Babylon. And Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the capital cities to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. ... And whoever will not fall and prostrate himself, will at that time be cast into a burning, fiery furnace ...

"There are Judahite men whom you appointed over the affairs of the capital cities of Babylon, namely Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; these men did not take counsel to follow your decree, O king. They do not worship your god and they do not prostrate themselves to the golden image that you have set up."

Join them. HaShem matters. EOM. Your chromosomes don't matter. Foredoomed quests for secular utopias don't matter. G-d and His Laws matter and some day everyone on earth will know it.

The BLM-ANTIFA-QWERTY Industrial Complex is a false and evil religion. James Lindsay makes a great (first amendment) case against it.

These Aren't Protests, They're Religious Ceremonies

Joe Rogan and Douglass Murray discuss the cult-like features (and conditions common to empires unwinding). Like two voices of Reason in a madhouse. There is nothing new under the sun. Murray describes how people in Russia would wear arm-bands in support of the revolution -- not because they did, just so the mob would leave them alone. (Also see Rogan's videos with Bret Weinstein, who tried to warn everyone of the impending lunacy.)

The only freedom of speech we don't have is cursing G-d.

If there will arise among you a prophet, and he gives you a sign or a wonder ... and he says, "Let us go after other gods which you have not known, and let us worship them," you shall not heed the words of that prophet.  (Deuteronomy 13)

I take it you’ve seen the Weinstein documentary by Mike Nayna?  Saw it last month. What a friggin’ eyeopener that was!  Blaspheme against the cult and burn you at the stake they will.

I caught a stench of this in the 90s. The philosophy department sponsored a guest speaker who suggested the need for a feminist critique ... of deductive logic. No one said anything -- not from fear, but because it would have been mean/impolite to point out the eye-crossing silliness.

In retrospect we should have escorted the speaker from the building. Silence is a form of encouragement.

Yep, I get it, with the exception of maybe “escorting the speaker from the building.” :). I’m big on free speech; anyone should be able to voice their ideas without interruption. But, those who disagree need to take responsibility and speak out themselves against the rubbish.  As you so wisely said, “ Silence is a form of encouragement.”  And Trump needs to be called out as well, especially when absolute swill pours out of his fingertips as evidenced by his latest gem of a Twitter “Don’t be afraid of COVID.” ( had to get that one off my chest because I was livid when I read it! )

So, yet again I feel like I’m caught between a rock and a hard place with the upcoming election. I didn’t vote in 2016 because I despised both candidates. I still despise Trump, mostly due to his persona, but I’ve been relatively satisfied with his policy decisions over the last four years. Still, persona and character matter a lot to me in a President, as I think it’s an important influence on the overall character of the country. Nevertheless, the gaining influence of radical leftist ideology, even within the halls of Congress, and the general willingness of Democratic leaders to kowtow before it has me voting ( reluctantly ) for Trump. If things like the 1619 project, Antifa, BLM, theories of institutional systemic racism, the innate racism of all white people, calls to disband the police, lack of outrage on riots/CHAZ/CHOP, toppling statues of founding fathers, cancel culture, a propaganda media and educational system, etc, are left to fester and grow like the metastatic cancers they are, we’ll bust from within.  Rational people, regardless of race, religion, creed, and party affiliation need to counter it...because if the trend doesn’t reverse and the divide shrink, I fear this century not closing without being witness to a second American civil war.

...frustrating times!!!

Think of Trump as the bumpy passage to Tucker in 24. Imagine a candidate you admire! My bugbear has always been US foreign policy and the craven insouciance of both 'sides.' The following occurred in my lifetime:

U.S. intended to degrade Iraq water supply

"We think it's worth it" (Eichmann-tier! And It was on the stage at the DNC in 2016.)

Invisible War: The United States and the Iraqi Sanctions

Afghanistan's Pentagon Papers

The War In Iraq To End ALL War.

Obama's Massacres of Choice

What part of "Thou shalt not kill" don't Democrats and Republicans and all Americans understand!? How many innocent humans have we killed with our psychotic foreign policy in the last 50 years? (How many we've displaced.) I may have joined in the rioting against some of the above (when younger and drunker). But there wasn't any.

One reason some folks voted for Trump is that he had the audacity to suggest the wars might have been 'wasteful.' Suggesting they're prohibited by G-d is apparently beyond the pale. The nation needs that 'dialogue'. Not that they're 'tactical blunders.' That it's wrong to kill innocent humans.

I usually don't vote. Arrow's Impossibility Theorem (and Gibbard-Satterthwaite theorem) undermine the possibility of determining the collective will by voting. We can't determine 'what society wants' because it can be shown to prefer A to B, and B to C, AND C to A. Libertarians don't need to read Ayn Rand (or even call themselves 'libertarians). The current system is faith-based. Legitimacy presupposes representativeness, which Arrow demonstrated is mathematically impossible. He received the Nobel in 1950 for this.

Regardless, if you want Tucker, vote for Trump. There's nothing wrong with faith-based innumerate voting if it keeps Kamala away from power. Tulsi & Yang might have been a different story ...

Yeah, I think they would’ve been. The parties are only interested now in putting up people who don’t criticize their fanatics...and this seems to hold more true for the Dems than the Republicans these days.

Tangentially, the term 'fascist' is used like everyone knows what it means. This nebulous, murky concept has been on a long, strange trip:

"This is what makes true, capital-F Fascism the most alien of all ideologies in America. While both racism and Marxism are as American as apple pie, the medieval guild rooted ideology of Italian Fascism is simply incomprehensible to most Americans.

"However, Italian Fascism was also highly-centralized and totalitarian--in fact, it was Mussolini who coined the term "totalitarian" to describe his Fascist State--though he meant something more along the lines of "we're all in this together" rather than the modern meaning of an omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, and un-escapable government.

"While Mussolini was no Hitler (and it can be argued that his switch from an anti-German to a pro-German position was one of the defining moments of the last century), neither was he a hero. He was an atheist and totally amoral. He basically stole the idea of Fascism from d'Annunzio (taking all the credit) and took more twists and turns in positions than the Comintern. First he was anti-clerical and republican, then he was royalist and Catholic . . . and then he was republican again during the Salo Republic and basically admitted that his royalism had been nothing but a ruse all along. Furthermore, his ideology placed the State (again, not necessarily understood as the government) above all things, including religion.

To him (as to most "palaeos") religion is primarily a civilizational achievement and something to be used for purely utilitarian ends. And while he wasn't obsessed with Jews (and even had an all-Jewish military academy at one time) he was certainly not their friend. In June 1919 he published a virulently anti-Semitic screed in Il Popolo d'Italia which he actually had to back away from after being lambasted by hostile blowback from within the Fascist movement! Then in 1938 he officially adopted the whole anti-Semitic, "Aryan" ideology (unfortunately, it is this latter anti-Semitic fascism that is subscribed to by Italian neo-fascist organizations).

"Parenthetically, the topic of Jews and Italian Fascism is quite interesting. While there were always anti-Semites in the Fascist Party (such as Roberto Farinacci), there were also philo-Semites such as Italo Balbo, and there were many Jewish members of the Fascist Party--until 1938, that is. While his sincerity was obviously lacking, Mussolini did at one time actually advocate a Jewish state in Israel and was supported by some Zionists (most prominently 'Abba' 'Achime'ir). Then at other times he would warn "Zionists" not to stir up anti-Semitism in Italy by "agitating" for a Jewish state."  (The Quotable Zionist Conspirator: "Don’t worry; no asteroid is going to destroy the earth. That would impede the inevitable triumph of socialism")
