I voted today. It was a hard choice. On one side there’s a decent, ex-vice president. One the other, a crotch-grabbing degenerate who has had three wives, cheated on every one of them, and once had his penis described in detail by a porn-star prostitute he employed. On one side, a patriotic American. On the other a Russian tool who calls fallen U.S. service men and women “losers”. On one side, a man who believes doctors and scientists. On the other, a man who has done everything possible to infect as many Americans as he can with a deadly virus. It was a difficult choice. But after due deliberation I voted Biden/Harris.

I was worried your post might end with a "but. . ." and Trump vote.  Glad it did not, lol. 

I realize politics can be divisive and many well-meaning people can differ in their opinions (William Lane Craig, for example, supporting Trump), but since this is the explicitly, unabashed pure politics section of the forum, I say:  "HECK YEAH!"  *high-five*  Thank you for your service to this country in voting that monster OUT of the Oval Office.

I wasn't a huge Biden/Harris fan, but compared to Trump, they have looked like angels to me!!!  *Sanders supporter in primaries here*

I'll be voting same.

Biden has enriched his family with his political power and influence, so he's no clean cut guy. His decision making is not described as cutting edge. Trump has a list of accomplishments that are lacking in Biden's 47 year career service.

But, I was tempted in the town hall to reconsider Biden. Occasionally he still comes off as sharp and capable, but then he speaks gibberish and says he's running for the senate and describes Mitt Romney to us as if no one is supposed to recall his name.

Well, at least Trump did many things that I think will help this nation. He won't get credit but some of us know. Too bad he couldn't keep his mouth shut. He could have gone down as a great president. His failings are far more visible than his achievements.

I meant the OP humorously. I never considered voting for Trump. I think a 5-year-old would do a better job than Trump – at least, he/she would listen to the experts.

To me this is pure propaganda. The Trump administration has been much tougher on Russia than Obama:

1) Trump pulled out of the INF treaty dealing with intermediate missile defence making Russia furious. Obama wouldn't even consider it.
2) Trump pushed Nato to increase spending which Russia couldn't have been pleased with. Obama let it go.
3) Trump sanctions German companies doing business with Russia pipelines. Obama never did that.
4) Trump puts missile defense system in Poland which infuriated Russia.
5) The Trump administration has ramped up missions into the Black sea which has not pleased Russia at all.
6) The Trump administration has repeatedly sanctioned Russia.
7) Trump pulled out of Iranian deal and increased sanctions against any company working with Iran. Not liked at all by Russia.
8 )  The Trump administration pulls out of the Open Skies treaty really upsetting Russia.
9) Trump's administration expands US defense toward defending the arctic. This something that people begged the Obama administration, but they didn't want to upset Russia.

These are not moves of a Russian agent but someone who has America's longterm interests and security in mind.

The experts line of reasoning is very dodgy, to be honest. I mean, weren't the "experts" over in China responsible for the virus "leaking" and spreading out of the lab? Oh, yeah, when the experts do something that goes against your invested authority in them, they all of a sudden stop being "experts" and representatives of the "experts" class.

Or, another example: when the experts disagree with evolution, why all of a sudden they aren't "experts" in biology? What about all the experts, who deny climate change as narrated and believed by left leaning people/politicians/experts? What about all the experts, who themselves are against the measures of WHO against covid?

Or, even, the experts in philosophy of religion - what about them?

It's funny that you speak of experts, but the experts are only those, who agree with you. It's just weird like that the situation with the experts, isn't it?


Also, I just watched a few days ago an interview of Putin complaining that Trump is making it very difficult for the two countries to work on international projects together, or mutual projects between the two countries. So much so, that the Obama administration was actually more fruitful in this regard.

Imagine believing that Trump is supported by Russia, so that he can come to power and make USA-Russia relations worse. I guess you believe all politicians you don't like are idiots, so Russia's politicians must be dumb as hell. So they invested all these resources and efforts to have a guy in power, who makes their life more difficult.

If you are still swallowing the vomit that the democrats concocted while colluding w/Russian Intelligence, a compromised FBI/CIA and a pay-for-play ex-vice president, who's suffering from dementia and whose family is best represented by a crack-smoking son who provided the CCP w/access to deals and corrupt Ukranian oligarchs w/oil and gas deals I think I know why you might be an atheist.

This is one election where it’s very important to consider the running mate as well, Harvey. For a lot of the reasons you’ve listed in the past, I highly doubt the man goes the full four years if elected. Biden is showing a lot of wear and tear, and he’s bucking for one of the most stressful jobs on planet earth.

100% agree. But this election cycle I feel forced to put personality considerations on the back burner.

Just learned my mom is voting Trump. 

She's actually a very non-judgmental person and has always ignored friends' and family members' political preferences, which is good.  She defends everyone's right to vote as they see fit and doesn't hold it against them.  She recognizes that this is not a science and people can have their own calculus for how to evaluate who/what would be best for the U.S. 

Nonetheless, I was disappointed in her.    She ignores or distrusts all the Trump scandals and screw-ups (will say they could be fake news), while believing in and heavily weighing the Biden ones.  Even when I try to "prove" to her the veracity of numerous Trump criticisms, she defaults to the position that these things cannot be trusted, as there are fake attacks out there.     

Her vote won't matter though, as she's in a locked up blue state.  If nothing else, this election season is giving us stuff to talk/yell/debate about.  .  She's not a Christian, but displays more Christian character than myself when it comes to being non-judgmental on these matters.

Since it's my way of politely wishing all voters well, sure!. 

I wouldn't mind doing a thread at some point on why I cannot vote for Trump as a Christian.  I understand people like William Lane Craig's logic on why he would vote for him (despite finding his personality and character possibly repulsive), but I tend to think Dr. Craig doesn't fully appreciate how detrimental of a societal impact a deeply corrupted character like Trump could have on a nation (which could outweigh the positives such a candidate might bring)..

For me, this was a very tough election.  I was voting for what  I felt was the lesser of two evils and am frankly not optimistic about our country's future.  I do think Biden would handle COVID a lot better than Trump (which is a major reason I am choosing him), though.

Yep, I’m in the same kind of boat here...just seeing it all from the other side of the lake I guess. I definitely like Biden’s character more; but in this election, I find myself voting against a lot of dangerous trends that I feel edge out Trump’s toxic personality.  I can only hope it’s the right choice.
