Contending with Christianity's Critics: Answering New Atheists and Other Objectors
Paul Copan (Editor), William Lane Craig (Editor)
Contending with Christianity’s Critics, book two in a series on modern Christian apologetics, is a masterful collection of answers for atheists’ arguments against the Christian faith, with special attention given toward assertions of New Atheists such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitchens. The collection of thoughtful essays and analysis, now available at Amazon and other book stores, is a fitting companion to the popular Passionate Conviction which was published in 2007. This second installment, featuring writings from eighteen respected apologists such as Gary Habermas and Ben Witherington, addresses challenges from noted New Atheists like Richard Dawkins (The God Delusion) and other contemporary critics of Christianity concerning belief in God, the historical Jesus, and Christianity’s doctrinal coherence.
Each contributor is a respected scholar who has studied these issues with care, making the book a valuable resource for the pastor or professor. However, the essays are presented in approachable language so that serious-minded lay people, university and high school students may also benefit from its contents. If you are looking to find a single collection of the best answers for atheists’ assertions, Contending with Christianity’s Critics is a must-read.
