Ron DeSantis hasn't formally announced his candidacy for POTUS in the 2024 election, but he is already leaning into rhetoric focused on culture wars and uses the term 'woke' a lot in his speeches -- recently even coining the term 'wokeocracy.' By focusing on culture wars stuff, DeSantis is leaning into topics that make the conservative base anxious and angry. Even though Trump has been casting barbs at him, I don't see much difference between DeSantis and Trump. DeSantis looks like a younger, meaner, less charismatic version of Trump. Some are claiming DeSantis is smarter, but I haven't seen any evidence of that, although it isn't a stretch to assume he has less scandal and legal troubles ahead than Trump does. What does everyone think?
