IF the Reasonable Faith message boards had a theme song...

...or hymn, or praise song, or whatever, what would it to be?  Or what would you want it to be?

The Logical Song by Supertramp, perhaps?

The more I think about it, the more fitting this seems, actually.

It all depends on what part of the site one wants to emphasize. But here are some choices from one of the songbooks I play from. Choices are based on both titles and lyrics. Most of these songs were written long ago, but some will never get old, e.g., “Someone to Watch over Me” and “You'll Never Walk Alone.”

“The Bible Tells Me So” by Dale Evans

“Eternally” by Charlie Chaplin and Geoffrey Parsons

“For All We Know” by J. Fred Coots and Sam Lewis

“I Believe” by Ervin Drake, Irvin Graham, Jimmy Shirl, and Al Stillman

“The Impossible Dream” by Andy Williams

“Pennies from Heaven” by Arthur Johnston and Johnny Burke

“Sing You Sinners”  by Sam Coslow and Franke W. Harling

“Someone to Watch over Me” by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin

“Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings

“There Will Be Peace in the Valley for Me” by Thomas Dorsey

“We Are the World” by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson

“Who Can I Turn to?” by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley

“You'll Never Walk Alone” by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II

Interesting responses!

I liked 'the Benny Hill tune' and The Logical Song.

And Lancia, thank you so much for that list.

The song I had in mind, as what I would like as a theme song for the forum, is "What's Going On?" by Marvin Gaye.

This YouTube song seems vaguely appropriate.
"This year, though I'm far from home
In Trench I'm not alone.
These faces facing me,
They know... what I mean."

There's a commercial playing here in Indiana, sponsored by Jim Irsay. (Owner of the Indanapolis Colts.)  I couldn't find the commercial on Youtube, but even better, I found this brief interview with Jim Irsay.  It was very good.

Anyway, the commercial has bits of Everybody Hurts by R.E.M..  In light of hearing this morning - that a coworker, who I have frequently worked closely with for over 20 years, lost her husband to Covid - this song really hit home.

Thanks for sharing that R.E.M. song and video. Very powerful.

When OJ leads us to a swinger's site in need of our philosophical ministrations, I think we should call ourselves The Sultans of Swing.

I think this is appropriate for those that are not willing to consider other opinions. At least the first line or two.

So everyone?
I told her all about how we been livin' a lie
And that they love to see us all go to prison or die
Like, "Baby, look at how they show us on the TV screen"
But all she ever want me to do is unzip her jeans
