Isn't Hell A Double Punishment?

INTERVIEWER: What about those who then end up in hell? Wouldn't you say that hell in a certain way becomes like a double punishment, because Christ has been punished for those sins somehow in a sense already, but wouldn't there be some kind of double punishment here?

DR. CRAIG: There would be, perhaps, a sort of double punishment in that sense, in that Christ's suffering was adequate to atone for their sins. I think that what Jesus suffered is of infinite value, and so no matter how many people are born in the future and sin, it's enough to cover for them. But if a person refuses the pardon, then God has to give him what he deserves, because that's what justice is.
