I want to drop you a quick note that I received from one of my students yesterday evening at the community college where I teach. He recently changed is major to philosophy and religion. Last spring I started interacting with the student since I was co-sponsor of the Philosophy Club, and he served as its president.

He is well read in philosophy, which he has been reading for the past two to three years. During the spring discussions at Philosophy Club, your works came up numerous times. And at times the student had questions on how various aspects relate to other issues in theology and/or philosophy. He and I would often have discussions for an hour to two beyond the meetings weekly.

This semester he is taking one of the sections of Comparative Religions. After class it is not uncommon that we talk for at least an hour or more twice a week. Late afternoon yesterday, he sent me a text message asking several questions about why Paul worded certain things in 1 Corinthians 15 the way he did. A few hours late, the student sent me a rapid serious of text messages that he could not refute Paul's arguments on the resurrection of Christ, and that he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He wanted me to be the first person to know what happened and to thank me for being willing and capable to answering his endless questions for numerous months. He attributes his conversion to several factors. One of those factors is influential apologists, theologians, and Christian philosophers. I know for a fact that you are one of the gentlemen.

My name is Darius, from Singapore. I am a lawyer in private practice and I have been following your work closely. Having listened to Parts 1 and 2 of the podcasts "New Questions from Facebook", I would like to offer a few comments on your take on gender identity issues and same-sex marriage. In "New Questions from Facebook Part 2", a Facebook user named Zachery said "I think the next big wave that Christians will need to respond to is gender identity issues". You responded that he "may well be right", cited certain recent comments by Richard Swinburne, and added "I think Zach is right that this is an area that will prove to be fertile ground for Christian philosophers and theologians". As someone who has addressed this issue in churches, in private conversation as well as the public square, I strongly agree. Your work on apologetics as a whole, including your book Hard Questions, Real Answers, convinced me not only that questions like the existence of God and the problem of suffering and evil could be dealt with on a rational basis, but also that moral issues like homosexuality could be rationally addressed. Your commentaries on current affairs have also helped shape my perspectives on these matters and was one of the sources of my inspiration to begin to speak up on developments in my own country. In my engagement on these issues I can attest that, in many ways, the philosophical and evidence-based arguments, e.g., in favour of marriage between a man and a woman function and operate in a way very similar to the philosophical and evidence-based arguments for God's existence. They give good reasons, apart from revelation, why we should affirm these truths. Furthermore, and especially in the context of private conversation with non-Christian friends (including those who identify as homosexual), the conversation rarely focuses exclusively on questions about God's existence or Jesus Christ. Instead, such conversations tend to move fluidly from questions about ultimate meaning and purpose to questions of morality and back to other issues like the problem of suffering and evil.

Hello Dr. Craig, I was finally able to read your reply to my question and it did feel a little embarrassing after I saw my fallacious reasoning and I greatly appreciate your insight. I think I was over run with emotion and my reasoning went out the door because I became afraid of the New Atheism. You were also right in saying my 'agnosticism' was fresh and could be easily plucked out, because a few weeks after my proclamation, I had a serious time of reflection and fine tuned my views. If possible, could the website remove my name because I'm a little worried about my Christian friends seeing that and getting the wrong impression that I'm still 'agnostic' or preferably, just add a note somewhere that I came back to Christianity. Thank you Dr. Craig, I cannot tell you how much this means. I'm currently reading Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview and some C.S Lewis. I hope one day I'll be defending the faith like you. God bless.

Thank you for making so much material available for free. There are many young people who are hungry to learn about these things but can't afford many books and don't know where to start. I have been immeasurably edified over the last year by being able to listen to defenders and reasonable faith while I commute and do yard work. If these materials had been behind a pay wall or had been merely in written form rather than a podcast, I might have passed them over indefinitely. As I wrote this, I realized I had to go back and follow up my one-time donation with a sustaining pledge. I pray that God continues to richly bless and protect this ministry.
