#1016 All the Arguments Have Been Answered
November 2, 2026Hello, I’m a 16-year-old from Romania, and I have a very tormenting question in my mind. All arguments for Christianity seem to have been answered by atheists. Are there any questions that have not been answered? How can I believe in God if all arguments for him have been answered by atheists and materialists?

I think I can relieve your distress, Balan, by drawing a very simple distinction. There is a profound difference between replying to an argument and refuting an argument. Atheists and materialists may, indeed, have replied to all the arguments for Christian theism, but that does not imply that they have refuted all, or even any, of the arguments for Christian theism.
So if by answering an argument, you merely mean writing a reply, then it’s actually a good thing that all the arguments have been answered – that’s better than being ignored! Then we can assess how adequate those answers are. But if by answering an argument, you mean refuting that argument, then secularists have not succeeded in that task. It’s striking that you provide no specific examples of successful refutations.
Unfortunately, far too many people feel overwhelmed by the barrage of secular material on the Internet and so fear that arguments in support of Christianity have been refuted, even if they cannot specify any particular objection that succeeds in doing so. See QOW #1014.
